As a charity, we're passionate about open to everyone

As a charity, we're passionate about being open to everyone and making a difference in our community. As well as our exciting line-up of world-class productions, we'll run three new programmes to offer opportunities for young people, artists and communities across Cornwall. We've re-engineered our company to embrace the tools of the modern world and rebuilt our staffing structures to ensure our customer sits at the very heart of the organisation.

With the auditorium transformation at the heart core of the project, the real gain is for the whole community. The building animates the city centre by creating links on the high street by bringing small arts entrepreneurs into Hall for Cornwall's orbit. The re-modelling of our auditorium, which sits in a Grade II listed building, has 300 more seats with a capacity of 1356. We know our audience buys into a new space to deliver bigger and better shows for Cornwall to enjoy. There is increased step-free access, toilets, and a space to change facilities. We have a grand new entrance on Boscawen Street. During the project, craftspeople have lovingly restored our beautiful heritage building. New facilities include a new drop-in and showtime Playhouse Bar and Playhouse Green Room, a new cafe space open to all. As we return to our show productions, we'll bring Cornwall; it will be in our enhanced auditorium will be enhanced with more legroom with, open style and state-of-the-art air-conditioning to move and provide improved air circulation and peace of mind in a new world of post-Covid world.

The pandemic has highlighted how much community matters and has hardened our resolve to bring a fantastic entertainment programme, including two world premieres by our new production company, Cornwall Playhouse Productions. Our unique programme has increased community programmes supporting youth, heritage and creativity.
