Happy Christmas

Happy Christmas from us all at Hall for Cornwall. I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your continued support across what has been an incredibly challenging year for all of us.
With your commitment to our theatre's transformation, we have kept the torch burning. We were delighted to have recently received funding from Arts Council England as part of their Cultural Capital Kickstart Fund to protect the UK’s culture and heritage sectors from the economic impacts of Covid-19.
The National Lottery Heritage Fund has also further supported our ambitions to unveil the history and heritage of our Grade II listed building. We thank Cornwall County Council for their ongoing support and partnership throughout the project, alongside HM Treasury, the Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership and the European Regional Development Fund, who have supported us from the outset.
We are truly grateful to all our funders, including the many trust and foundations, philanthropists and an army of passionate and committed community supporters who have all believed in our vision.
As a result of this incredible support, we can now look forward to our reopening, aiming to stage our first major show - a world premiere - in September 2021. We'll announce this exciting launch show early next year and put our inaugural season on sale in Spring.
The virus may have pushed back our reopening, but this has only hardened our resolve to bring you a fantastic entertainment programme for our launch season. The phone has been ringing off the hook with producers and promoters wanting to bring their shows to Cornwall.
While we work towards completing our build, we continue with our community activities across the county, supporting local talent, young people and schools. A highlight of this year was the hosting of Unlocked, an online dance programme for our young dancers and their creative endeavours. When we could start our youth theatre and dance groups in person again, we were amazed at the creativity that came from social distancing.
The pandemic has emphasised how much community matters, and our new home will be a beacon for the county, playing a vital role in Cornwall's economic recovery. Our reimagined theatre will provide welcome spaces for schools and community groups, and new backstage facilities will widen access, helping us to provide many more creative opportunities across the county and beyond.
We're passionate about throwing open our doors next year and welcoming you all back to a new theatre with people, passion and possibility at its heart.
Thank you for standing by our side, and here's to 2021 of breaking smiles, raising pulses and bringing much laughter.
Please take care and stay safe, and we hope you enjoy our 'sprinkle of Christmas cheer' film below with some familiar faces from Christmas shows past.
