There are exciting workshops coming

We have an exciting series of free workshops led by Karen Pirie coming up in the Autumn, which are open to anyone interested in unlocking and sharing their knowledge and memories of the City Hall and Hall For Cornwall.
The three-hour sessions will include fun exercises, with advice and tips to help build the narrative to create humorous, touching or compelling chapters in the story. Follow-up sessions will give time for further research into historical stories or make personal stories a permanent part of our collection. You can find out more about the workshops on our website.

We are also looking forward to the positive impact our transformation will have on the arts in Cornwall in the future. Regional theatres support the local economy and ensure residents enjoy shows featuring world-class performers.  Actor Sam West recently highlighted his father, Timothy West, ’s support for HFC in an article published in Country-file magazine. “He would much rather play King Lear on tour to the Hall for Cornwall in Truro than at The Old Vic in London – I know, ‘cos he’s done both,” he wrote. “The difference is that when he does it at the Old Vic, people ask, “Who’s directing? Who’s playing Gloucester?” When he tours it in Truro, people from West Cornwall stop him in the street and say, “I’ve always wanted to see this play.”.

We look forward to welcoming Sam, Timothy and other top actors, dancers, singers and musicians to our new theatre when it re-opens next year.
